regular broadcasting will resume shortly

This week is our major moving week so posting will continue to be sporatic but I hope to be be back posting soon cuz I have a lot to share. I miss this place and I miss reading my blogger friend's blogs as well.
This pic is a pic of our neighbor's car who always leaves his windows open and even sometimes his door will just be left open. Like these totes were left on his car for days. He clearly don't give a f*ck.

In My Brain

In the last few days Tyrone and I have started watching horror movies and so far we're 0-2, at least in my opinion. Two movies I've never seen before, one I wanted to see what it was all about and the other I was practically forced to watch by Ty; The Last House on the Left (1972) and The Human Centipede II. Yes that's right we went straight to the sequel of the The Human Centipede. We couldn't be bothered with the first one (well, Tyrone watched it in fast forward). This movie is nothing less than f*cked up. OK both movies are totaled f*cked but I will say that the cinematography is beautiful which is weird to say but it is. I'm not saying that to sound like a movie snob either, of which I could not be farther from, but it really is easy on the eyes even the bug eyed villain is hard to tear your eyes from. The Last House on the left I have to admit I fell asleep in because if I'm watching a movie from the 70's I have to be pretty damn alert because they tend to be a little slow. This left me with nightmares and a sick feeling in my stomach but anything with rape scenes in it will do that. We watched the 2009 version sometime around when it was released on DVD. It is pretty different than the original version plus it has Jesse Pinkman in it even. It's much better than the original in my opinion.

Moving – blah, blah, blah. I will say that my mom has been helping out a ton and it has pretty much saved my sanity that is for sure.

EVERYONE HAS CANCER RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!! EVERYONE HAS CANCER!!!

Lately I've become a bit emotionally involved in politics and I need to step back for a bit. I'm so sick of it all right now but at the same time I think it's important to stay informed – but at the cost of what?! I don't know. It's all just really frustrating to me right now.

3 out of 4 of my plants are still alive that's good news! My avocado tree is growing well and it's starting to become pretty tall. I just hope it doesn't go into shock when we move and die. I will be sad.

Parks and Recreation and The Office start this week. Word.

I'm lacking in witty commentary lately. I'm just too damn busy.

This morning coffee isn't doing its job. I think it's time to evolve to meth, it's only natural.

DIY Spooky Prints

BEFORE

Old prints or wood signs like the ones I chose + markers/paint + creative juices = spooky prints

It's too easy - have fun with it.

AFTER

There are so many ways these can be done.

If you're not into DIY then check out this local Utah artist who has this art form nailed. I love her work!

Why I love Twitter

This is why I love Twitter:

Rain Wilson tweets this:

Martha Stewart replies:
and I reply to her because, I mean, really? She's my hero and all, so don't get me wrong but I don't understand why that got her panties all twisted. It's twitter take a chill pill (I feel so 80's for saying that)

I love Twitter!

and another tweet that I failed but still these bastards don't taste anything like Cocoa Pebbles, I don't care how much Tyrone says they do.

Big Head & Sausage Fingers

I had to take the video down that I made about us moving at Tyrone's request. It was one of those "pick-your-battle" moments so I just did him a solid instead of fighting about it. If you didn't watch it the jist is we're moving in with my parent's at the end of the month. You can imagine what that's doing to me as a almost 34 year old independent woman. I'm planning on writing more about it when I'm not busy with packing and life stuff. So instead of that video I'm posting this one instead.

Fridays with Frederick

He loves laying on a pillow. It's one of his human-like qualities that are so funny.

family portrait doodle

I drew this for my parents of my immediate family. It's silly and sort of adolescent but dammit I expect this one to go the front of the refrigerator for a long time.

my new face regimen

It's been a few weeks since I've switched up my face care routine and I decided to post about it since I feel that I've received some positive results. I want to share the love. I've gone almost completely all natural. I don't know why I never did this before since I have really sensitive skin. about 10 years ago I did have a revelation and stopped washing me face everyday and that seemed to help out a lot. I know they tell you to wash your face everyday but it just wasn't working out for me it would leave my face dry and red and I end up breaking out even more. I was reading Cakies blog when I saw this and decided to give it a try. I've always sort of scoffed at natural face remedies until now.

This DIY face wash is a really great exfoliator and smells great too. The oatmeal and honey leaves my face feeling really soft. I wasn't sure about the honey at first because I though it would leave my skin sticky but this mixture doesn't do that at all. I also decided to leave the lavender out because I have allergies and didn't think it would be a good idea to put dried flowers on my face although I think it would smell really great with it in there.
the basics:
1 T baking soda
2 T oatmeal
1 T dried lavender (optional: I left this out)

ground up and mix together and put in a jar or some sort of container
to use: add a bit of raw honey to palm and then add a teaspoon of dry mix to make a paste and mix with warm water and scrub face with it

I've also been using this DIY face toner after I wash my face and it has really been helping my skin out a lot and most importantly with evening out my skin tone. I have sun damage on my face and am getting more and more dark patches and dark spots as I get older and it seems to really help even them out. I love it! I wasn't thrilled about putting vinegar on my face because it smells like feet but the smell doesn't last long at all I swear.

DIY toner:
3 parts water
2 parts braggs vinegar with the mother in it
mix and shake toget in a little container or spray bottle

I shake min up every time and put some on a cotton face pad and put it all over my face and neck. It feels really, really good. I never thought I would ever say that.

Happy cleansing!

a tweet gone wrong

because I type too fast on my phone and never double check it before I hit send

{all comedy is lost with grammatical errors which is really unfortunate for myself}

i've been following @unfoRETTAble (from parks and rec) on twitter like a hawk lately because she's been live tweeting Buffy the Vampire Slayer and is starting from season 1 and she's never seen it before AND it is cracking me up!

Hoodie Revamp - geometric & galaxy inspired

Kicking off September with a bang and scheduling some posts this week. I have a couple halloween DIY's to post soon as well.

I really wanted a worn-out old hoodie that was comfortable yet still sort of up-to-date at the same time so I found this old navy one at Goodwill and gave a little makeover.

Before
I took all of the letters off with a seem ripper. It was a bit time consuming but nothing one night and a funny movie made the time fly.

After
I taped off one side in the shape of a triangle and sprayed it with some bleach, sprinkled some dye in random places and let it dry over night. The next day I washed and dried it and was left with a new hoodie for fall.
