picture overhaul - more pics from the other morning

these are all random shots form the morning of the alley and impromptu photo shoot downtown

I have a really strange fascination with old street signs and stars so I'm really liking this sign a lot. I would love to see it in my future living room some day. I have four stars tattooed on my back that I always forget about because I can't see them. My next tattoo will be visible that is for sure.

this door really draws me in

During the week there are always people just chilling on these chairs.

some musicians walking to a gig I snuck a shot of them

I pass this every day on my way home from work and I always say to myself, "who the fuck is Street Jesus?"
Three pics of this sign might be a little excessive but I just love this sign. It sits in the middle of a super busy intersection and I always picture people driving by slapping the stickers to it hanging out their car windows.

Oktoberfest 2010

I think we were so excited to go to Oktoberfest that we forgot to turn the radio on in the car. We sat anxiously the whole way up the canyon in silence...well almost Tyrone isn't capable of being quiet for more than two minutes. That's why I love him. He's a talker and I am not. You wouldn't guess that I'm not a talker by the way I run my mouth on here. I hate talking.

I couldn't get the thoughts of a giant german wiener accompanied by a peice of german chocolate cake out of my mind. I want to know the recipe to this cake because it is the best german chocolate cake I have ever had. The beer is not the reason we go to Oktoberfest. First of all it's in Utah and they only sell the local stuff or Bud & Bud Light. Ew.

We've gone the last two years (here and here) and have had a blast every time. Last year it was snowing like crazy. I love sitting and watching all of the elderly people dressed in lederhosen dancing around with their giant steins. Oh and making mean comments about all of the yuppies to myself in my head.

the wieners were so good they deserved two shots
Tyrone likes the beer that tastes like steak sauce. Uck!

This was the view on the way out of the canyon and we had a nice little playlist accompanying us.

LCD Soundsystem
George Micheal
Muse
4 Non Blondes - I rock the shit out of What's Up
Rob Bas and DJ E-Z Rock
The Dead Weather

And we spotted this beauty on the way out too.

Inspiration - blogroll - now I can sleep soundly

I fear being put in blogger timeout or blogger outer darkness and fear even more so whoever or whomever is the old witch that is in charge of divvying out such punishment for bad bloggers. As much as any naughty girl loves a good spanking I’m not about to get a demerit this early on in the game. Or am I? I think maybe the blogger monitor whore is just some anal old lady who designated herself to be the know-all of all things blog related. I don’t think stupid rules should be put on any blogger. Isn’t the whole idea of blogging about expressing oneself however oneself feels anytime oneself desires to do so? I know I’m right. I will say that although I don’t agree with blogging rules I do agree and very much want to support the awesome blogs that inspire me.

Behold my blogroll in no particular order

You can find all of the links in my blog roll...duh! But it's not titled blogroll so for those of you who are easily confused it is titled cleverly Stop The Insanity!

I did something similiar awhile back if you want to read it. The list above will be added to my sidebar semi-permanently and will change with my mood or the weather.

Snug as a bug

I have been meaning to share this. Tyrone's mom is an awesome crocheter. She makes everyone a blanket and this is the one she made for him for Christmas last year. It is white chenille. It's the softest thing next to a baby ducks ass. She made one for both him and his sister. She has been making me one and I can't wait to see it. It will probably be around the holidays some time before I'll get it. I think she is doing it in our wedding colors or something like that. She had also made me an awesome scarf once that I totally love. It's huge and really warm. I totally sweat in it.

I have started making a blanket a few different times and I quit every time. I get bored way too fast. My friend has made some really cute granny square blankets recently that I am super jealous over. One of these days I am going to get on it. I have an enormous pile of yarn that I bought that needs a purpose!

eats - cheesy roasted red pepper pizza

Let's start September off with an easy and pretty damn tasty recipe. When I roasted peppers for our roasted red pepper sandwich's I had a lot left over. After they have marinated in some olive oil and in their own juices for a week or so they become extremely sweet. We decided to make an easy pizza with them.

Take a refrigerated thin crust pizza dough and spread olive oil, garlic, oregano and salt & pepper over it. Cover with a layer of mozzarella cheese, then roasted red peppers (ours had a few yellow peppers mixed in too) and then top off with some parmesan cheese. We used two whole packages of cheese.

Place in a 400 degree pre-heated oven and cool for only about six minutes or until the crust is golden brown. It cooks super fast. I would suggest NOT walking away from it.

This would be great with caramelized onions too! Let me know if you try it!
