Ugh!

I am home from work today with an ear ache/infection. I have never had one before. They suck. It hurts so bad, but I did some research and found a few at home remedies that seem to help. Tyrone first poured hydrogen peroxide down my ear that made weird crackling noises but didn't seem to make the pain go away. Every time I swallowed and chewed it killed. I went to bed with a warm cloth on my ear but I woke up @ 1:30 am with stabbing pain in my ear and didn't go back to bed till 4am. I finally found something that seemed to help a lot. I mixed vinegar and lemon juice with warm water and dropped a few drops down my ear while laying on my side on my dirty floor. I let that sit for about 10 min. and after I went back to bed with a warm rice sock on my ear and that helped me get some more sleep. I also took two tylenol. I am still exhausted because we had gone camping on Friday with my family and came home yesterday and although I had taken a really nice nap yesterday I am still dragging from not enough sleep last night. I can't seem to get a break on the no sleeping thing. Ugh! Oh well, but that is why I am staying home today.

The Police Concert w/special guest Elvis Costello & The Dark Knight

This weekend was crazy for me. I am obviously not a teenager anymore so I had to push myself to get through this weekend that started off with seeing The Dark Knight Friday morning @ Midnight. It was amazing! I loved every minute of it. I didn't nod off once, which is a plus for me cuz I tend to fall asleep during most movies when they start after dark. (pathetic, I know) I think it may have been from fear... the joker helpers with their clown masks really brought it out of me. We didn't get home until 3:45.
If you haven't seen it yet...Do it soon!

After all of the Steele Days stuff Saturday we went to The Police & Elvis Costello concert. It was a blast. I was a little buzzed during the show but I think it made my grueling weekend a bit more bearable and turned out with some very silly pics. We had so much fun! Steele, one of Tyrone's best friends bought us tickets. What a great guy!! Dave drove us all drunkards up there but not before stopping by Piper Down (of course) for a pre-show drink and ending up @ Piper for the post-show party. Ha ha ha

American Fork Steele Days 5K

Piece of Cake?

Would have been if 5 minutes in to it I hadn't gotten a blister the size of a quarter that filled my white Iverson's up with blood. As I digress from the bloody memory, I realize it was all worth it; any little bit helps for cancer research. The girls in my family went. My mom, Rachael (My brother's fiance' the one below pushing out her chest for the camera), Charese (My cousin Dillen Colt's wife, bottom pic) and me. I can't forget to mention Frederick; he was a trooper ribbons and all. My dad waited at the finish line to take photos of our triumph. After the race, we went to the parade and hung out at the car show for a bit. We also didn't forget to grab one of the best corn dogs @ the carnival and managed to avoid the carni-freaks. One complaint regarding Steele Days: The American Fork City Council sucks elephant balls for voting against having the burn-outs this year.

So Far this Summer...

We've been pretty lucky so far this summer...

We started the warm weather off by going on a hike up Big Cottonwood canyon. We took Frederick with us unknowing that we weren't suppose to. Did you know that dogs are banned from that canyon? Stupid! I think some humans should not be allowed up there.

We went to the Zoo in May. All of the animals were so sad & depressed. I'm not sure I'll go back.  We did get some cool pics. My mom says I'm the only adult with out children she knows who wants to go to the Zoo to take pictures.
Ty went skydiving for his birthday June 22. It was his second jump which meant he got to pull the cord. Word!
A couple weeks ago we were driving home from my parents house in American Fork and as we were coming up to Thanksgiving Point they started their fireworks show. We pulled over on the side of the freeway to watch them; we had the best seats in the house. It was beautiful.

Snoop Dogg & 311

June 30th 2008
This show was off the hook! Tyrone, me and Steele went. We were in the pit the whole time. I tried hangin up front as long as I could but when 311 started I lasted about 15 min. The giants in the pit booted me out. I forgot how mean people are. I can be mean but there's only so much a 5'4" girl can do against 6 feet bullies pushing you out of the way. Even with all the bruises and sore muscles I left with; It was all worth it. It was more fun than I've had in awhile.

Ready for my pocket protector

I have to say how proud I am of myself. I have read 5 books in 6 weeks. I don't think I read that many books from 7th grade -all of the way up until I was 28. I've always hated reading unless it was poetry or magazines. I started by finishing up the Posie GraemeEvans trilogy with The Uncrowned Queen. Then off I was to Hairstyles of the Damned by Joe Meno which was pretty fun. One of my favorite co-workers suggested I read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls--I loved it!! It was so good to read something I could relate to openly and honestly. My mom gave me Save Me From Myself by Head from Korn. I like Korn but really didn't really like the book although it has a great message I won't take that away from him. To end my book reading spree I read A Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. It was so strange and totally out of my realm but I am very glad that I read it. He was an incredible writer for his time
