Moab 1/2 Marathon & Blanding pics!
Pics of our trip to Moab, Monticello & Blanding (Don't let the name fool you). We had so much fun driving down and hanging out the day before.
Mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon
Pathetic dog
Day before the run in Monticello
We didn't see any hole but apparently there is a
store inside the rock
Fred had a blast running the whole 80 acres in Blanding @ Jenni's dad's place. (Thanks Roland and Karen for the great hospitality)
Ty on one of the 4-wheelers
Us on the porch enjoying the fab weather
Jen & I waiting to run our guts out. I love breath rite strips!

This has to be the cutest pic of Jen ever. You can see the Colorado River behind her. We ran next to it for the first 10 miles.

Are you ready??

This pic is very deceptive. I am not smiling on the inside. This is the last mile. It was the WORST!! But we had our awesome men by us the whole last mile. Ty was running next to me while taking pics and holding Fred. He was so supportive and took such good care of me when we got home. Love ya babe!
This depicts more of what I was feeling like. Help me!
Finally done!! I am happy on the inside, clearly wanting to die on the outside.
Speech! Speech! "I'd like to thank all of my fans!"
BFF Runnin Bitches!! Team Star Chicas!

Jenni's boys were so proud of their mom! I am hating all pictures at this point.

A few minor repercussions

Done!
The race is over now, 3 blisters and 3 hrs. and twenty something minutes later we crossed the finished line with our families cheering us on. It was very nice having Ty and Frederick there along with Jenni's family who was so encouraging. I have to say now though I am ready to die! I couldn't walk at all yesterday and that is not an exaggeration. Ty took good care of me and today I am feeling much better. I am not sugar-coating a damn thing; it was SO hard!! But in the end it was worth it. We had a blast the whole weekend in Moab. The weather was perfect.
I will post pics later.
Thanks to everyone for all of your support.

36 Hours To Go!
I have had the worst butterflies all day today. I am running the Moab Canyonlands 1/2 marathon in 36 hrs. Last night I had a hard time running but my time wasn't too bad. 13.1 miles is a little intimidating. I guess I'll have to suck it up though. It's a good thing there are EMT's there since I will need them when I start rolling down the canyon. I am looking forward to running next to the river though. At least it will be beautiful. I also have to mention that both Tyrone and I have never been to Moab so it should be fun for us and Frederick too. We are taking him with us; sneaking him in the hotel room and getting kicked out of the park where the finish line is and where dogs are NOT allowed. Boo! "Oh well" as Tyrone would put it. That's what I love so much about Ty he's so easy going.
Please pray for Jenni and I this Saturday between 10am-1pm. Thanks!

I thought about this at work today trying to take my mind off things. Plus since I am talking about something I will be glad to say that I have accomplished in life. I thought I would make this list.
Stuff I hope NOT to do Before I Die:
- Never visit NY city
- Be proud to be ignorant of something
- Become infertile
- Never quite my job
- Run out of my Burt ’s Bees chap stick
- Become a nagging wife
- Get caught naked in public
- Lose my creative gene
- Become old mentally
- Lose my spouse. I want to go first.
BTW, I have good news to report about work but I will do that when we get back from Moab.
One more thing, I just have to post this pic of Ty. This is one of the first pics of Ty he sent me when we were first dating LONG before we moved in together. He was very proud of it. He's wearing a Tyrone or Ty-ranasaurus Dinosaur T-shirt that I think was from when he was a kid. Too adorable!

Moab 1/2 Marathon Here We Come!
"Two women set out to run a 1/2 marathon and concur!!"
That is what the headlines will read in Moab after Jenni and I run the Moab 1/2 Marathon on March 21st. We registered in November and have been waiting in anticipation to see if we would be accepted and we have been!! We are way excited. Well I am probably more scared than excited because I am so out of shape it's not even funny. So far we hav
e been running at home on our treadmills and together on Saturdays. The first Saturday we set out we ran 6.2 miles on the back roads from Lehi to my moms house in American Fork. We survived even with all of the many assholes that tried killing us by hitting us with their vehicles. Jenni is embarrassed to run with me in public because I have the tendency to scream and yell profanities at people when they try to kill us. I can't help myself. My mom says it's my tourettes syndrome:
Tourette's syndrome |toŏˈrets|noun Medicinea neurological disorder characterized by involuntary tics and vocalizations and often the compulsive utterance of obscenities.
We need all of the luck we can get so please keep us in your thoughts as we set out on this adventure. Thanks! I will keep you all posted on our progress.
This how I feel when I run:

Heart Walk Sept 6 2008
Not one loser at my work signed up to go on this so just Ty and I went. We had fun though. I do have to say that the American Heart Association isn't an organization I feel comfortable supporting again.
And for those haters of the big sunglasses, in my defense, I have to say I love them because they make my big head and protruding forehead look not so large.

American Fork Steele Days 5K
Piece of Cake?
Would have been if 5 minutes in to it I hadn't gotten a blister the size of a quarter that filled my white Iverson's up with blood. As I digress from the bloody memory, I realize it was all worth it; any little bit helps for cancer research. The girls in my family went. My mom, Rachael (My brother's fiance' the one below pushing out her chest for the camera), Charese (My cousin Dillen Colt's wife, bottom pic) and me. I can't forget to mention Frederick; he was a trooper ribbons and all. My dad waited at the finish line to take photos of our triumph. After the race, we went to the parade and hung out at the car show for a bit. We also didn't forget to grab one of the best corn dogs @ the carnival and managed to avoid the carni-freaks. One complaint regarding Steele Days: The American Fork City Council sucks elephant balls for voting against having the burn-outs this year.

Race for the Cure
May 10, 2008

Jamie and I did the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure last month. It was so much fun. We power walked it; maybe next year we will run it (doubtful). There were so many people there to support friends and loved ones who have passed away or is a survivor of breast cancer. I was humbled to see all of the support. There were so many teams there in crazy boobie supporting attire. I loved it. I can't wait for next year!!
I did it in support of my Aunt Betty and for every brave woman who has had to face it!
