Moab 1/2 Marathon & Blanding pics!

Pics of our trip to Moab, Monticello & Blanding (Don't let the name fool you). We had so much fun driving down and hanging out the day before.

Mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon

Pathetic dog

Day before the run in Monticello

We didn't see any hole but apparently there is a
store inside the rock

Fred had a blast running the whole 80 acres in Blanding @ Jenni's dad's place. (Thanks Roland and Karen for the great hospitality)

Us on the porch enjoying the fab weather

Jen & I waiting to run our guts out. I love breath rite strips!

This has to be the cutest pic of Jen ever. You can see the Colorado River behind her. We ran next to it for the first 10 miles.

Are you ready??

This pic is very deceptive. I am not smiling on the inside. This is the last mile. It was the WORST!! But we had our awesome men by us the whole last mile. Ty was running next to me while taking pics and holding Fred. He was so supportive and took such good care of me when we got home. Love ya babe!

This depicts more of what I was feeling like. Help me!

Finally done!! I am happy on the inside, clearly wanting to die on the outside.

Speech! Speech! "I'd like to thank all of my fans!"

BFF Runnin Bitches!! Team Star Chicas!
Jenni's boys were so proud of their mom! I am hating all pictures at this point.

A few minor repercussions

Done!

The race is over now, 3 blisters and 3 hrs. and twenty something minutes later we crossed the finished line with our families cheering us on. It was very nice having Ty and Frederick there along with Jenni's family who was so encouraging. I have to say now though I am ready to die! I couldn't walk at all yesterday and that is not an exaggeration. Ty took good care of me and today I am feeling much better. I am not sugar-coating a damn thing; it was SO hard!! But in the end it was worth it. We had a blast the whole weekend in Moab. The weather was perfect.

I will post pics later.

Thanks to everyone for all of your support.

36 Hours To Go!

I have had the worst butterflies all day today. I am running the Moab Canyonlands 1/2 marathon in 36 hrs. Last night I had a hard time running but my time wasn't too bad. 13.1 miles is a little intimidating. I guess I'll have to suck it up though. It's a good thing there are EMT's there since I will need them when I start rolling down the canyon. I am looking forward to running next to the river though. At least it will be beautiful. I also have to mention that both Tyrone and I have never been to Moab so it should be fun for us and Frederick too. We are taking him with us; sneaking him in the hotel room and getting kicked out of the park where the finish line is and where dogs are NOT allowed. Boo! "Oh well" as Tyrone would put it. That's what I love so much about Ty he's so easy going.

Please pray for Jenni and I this Saturday between 10am-1pm. Thanks!

I thought about this at work today trying to take my mind off things. Plus since I am talking about something I will be glad to say that I have accomplished in life. I thought I would make this list.

Stuff I hope NOT to do Before I Die:

  1. Never visit NY city
  2. Be proud to be ignorant of something
  3. Become infertile
  4. Never quite my job
  5. Run out of my Burt ’s Bees chap stick
  6. Become a nagging wife
  7. Get caught naked in public
  8. Lose my creative gene
  9. Become old mentally
  10. Lose my spouse. I want to go first.

BTW, I have good news to report about work but I will do that when we get back from Moab.

One more thing, I just have to post this pic of Ty. This is one of the first pics of Ty he sent me when we were first dating LONG before we moved in together. He was very proud of it. He's wearing a Tyrone or Ty-ranasaurus Dinosaur T-shirt that I think was from when he was a kid. Too adorable!

Finally I found Internet

I am so cheap. I am sitting in some neighborhood blogging right now. I get it where I can! I hope you all like our save the dates. We took the pic on our Mac using Photobooth in our dinning room. I had them developed at Walmart online. So easy! I made the rest on cardstock with sweat and labor from my own paint chipped nails and two hands.

Any way, here is a scanned copy of what I did. It doesn't look very good because I scanned it.

We decided to move our wedding date up. We were originally going to do September 14th, 2009 which is our current anniversary date. It’s funny because when we decided to move it up it just took so much stress off. You would think it would put more stress on us having less time to plan. We did not want to wait till September.

BTW, for all of you who decided to participate in the Homemade Fun, I am making your gifts tonight. Yeay! I can't wait for mine!

Save The Date!

Save it

Homemade Fun

So...The first FIVE people to respond to this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations: 1- I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! 2- What I create will be just for you. 3- It'll be done this year. 4- You have no clue what it's going to be. It may be a story. It may be a joke book, autographed picture of myself, handmade bag, or a little invention of my own! I may bake you something and mail it to you. Who knows? The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me! Oh, and be sure to post a picture of what you win when you get it! Sounds like fun, right? So let's play!

(i just copied this word for word from Vinny's blog, but I am all for it)

Peace Love and a Purple Rubber Bank

I am boycotting work today. I decided to take pictures of my desk and one random pic of a purple rubber band I found which I am wearing all day. Purple is rare in the world of a beige office.

This is what the rest of our office looks like.
When we moved downtown to a “remodeled” office this is what they decided on; boring yellow-ish beige walls with gray/blue accent.
This is the desk next to me.
I am very lucky not to have a neighbor. I hate small talk and to have to be forced to say good morning to someone every day would really agitate me.
Don't forget your desk stretches.
My fan which I am a huge fan of, heehee. I am the hot one in the office, literally and metaphorically. I am also very self-confident (actually this is something I’ve been working very hard on and am making much progress with). Every other girl here is always cold and it bothers me, I don’t know why.

I have, have, have to listen to my Ipod when I make copies at work. I make a lot of copies (being an assistant will do that). I am like the contractor assassin, they hire me to kill trees. We kill a lot of trees at my work. Some things haven’t moved into the new school quite yet with us. I try to suggest things, but I am rarely listened to at my job.
I had to listen to Halloween music today while I copied. It makes me happy.

2/25/09 - I'm taking a ride...

2/25/09: Last night in the car we were driving down Highland Drive back from The Rack purchasing Ty a Tie (clever, I know), a yellow tie for the wedding THIS Saturday!!! On the way home we stopped by Yanni’s to get one of the best gyros and fired muchrooms we know of. So Good! Anyway, we were singing Barracuda by Heart to the top of our lungs and reminiscing about playing it on Guitar Hero before our copy was ruined. Now we talk about the game like it’s a lost family member. Good times! Driving around in the car reminds me of back in high school. Doing nothing and jamming to whatever we were listening to at the time on the radio or CD. (Now it’s all about the Ipod) I love that I can share that experience with Tyrone . I can belch it out with my awesome vocal skills in front of him and he doesn’t care because he will just do the same.

This makes me think of the song Never Let Me Down Again, by Depeche Mode. "I'm taking a ride with my best friend..."

That song also makes me think of Zach too.

A few days before the main event of Pickle and Rae-Rae

I did not think and haven’t had any negative thoughts about the girl my brother is marrying and I have been very thankful and glad at that. But I do have to admit that in these last few weeks there have been some interesting feelings that have pestered my mind. Feelings of anxiety and loss. Only from my end. I’m not sad Dillen is getting married. I am just sad at the thought of losing him and who he is individually. As much as I want him to grow up and become a wonderful mature man I don’t want him to lose his silliness and crazy side. It is what makes him The Pickle. I know I am not physically losing him. And anyone who you really knows me knows that there isn’t anyone that I love more than The Pickle. I think that this is all just the protective sister coming out. She hasn’t been out in awhile and it was nice having her tucked away. I love Rachel I have to say this so that nobody gets the wrong idea reading this. I am happy that Dillen found a great girl. I wish them both the best of luck in their future.

Side note: I got a voice message from him today and all I heard was Juke Box Hero by Foreigner playing in my ear. I called him to back only to let him play random songs for me from his Ipod. Those are the joys of being his sister. I love my Pickel.

     Juke Box Hero

Standing in the rain, with his head hung low
Couldnt get a ticket, it was a sold out show
Heard the roar of the crowd, he could picture the scene
Put his ear to the wall, then like a distant scream

He heard one guitar, just blew him away

He saw stars in his eyes, and the very next day
Bought a beat up six string in a secondhand store
Didnt know how to play it, but he knew for sure

That one guitar, felt good in his hands
Didnt take long, to understand
Just one guitar, slung way down low
Was one way ticket, only one way to go

So he started rockin
Aint never gonna stop
Gotta keep on rockin
Someday hes gonna make it to the top

And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Hes a juke box hero
He took one guitar, juke box hero, stars in his eyes
Juke box hero, hell come alive tonight

In a town without a name, in a heavy downpour

Thought he passed his own shadow, by the backstage door
Like a trip through the past, to that day in the rain
And that one guitar made his whole life change

Now he needs to keep rockin
He just cant stop
Gotta keep on rockin
That boy has got to stay on top

And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Hes a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Yeah, juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
With that one guitar hell come alive
Come alive tonight

Yeah, hes gotta keep rockin
He just cant stop
Gotta keep on rockin
That boy has got to stay on top

And be a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Hes a juke box hero, got stars in his eyes
Just one guitar, put stars in his eyes
Hes just a juke box hero, aah aah aah
Juke box hero, juke box hero, hes got stars in his eyes
Stars in his eyes

I was finally able to finish his gift that I had been working on for a couple of days now. After the sweet call I got from him on Thursday I new what I would put on the note. I put some Ed Hardy shot glasses inside (I couldn't find a nice flask which is what I really wanted to give him). Here are a few pics of the finished product.

The Wedding of Pickle & Rae-Rae

So the wedding was last night and was beautiful. I am a little late on posting lately but I have to brag on the things we did for Rachel's bridal shower because it turned out quite nice.

Here are the invites that I made.

Here are the favors we handed out. The are Heath bars covered in a downloadable template that I got off of Rachel Rae's website. They have baby shower ones too, which we may be using soon.

I have tons of pics from the main event but will post them later.
