What's in my bag?

I'm only doing one of these posts because I feel like right now in my life, I can dump my shit out on the bed and have it actually come out clean. I've been a beast at keeping my purse tidy so it's a pretty honest interpretation of what is inside. Not sure it will last long though.

1. iPhone5 (not shown because I needed it to take the pictures, plus I actually don't keep it in my purse all that much 2. daily planner 3. notebook 4. two bags for drugs and personal hygiene items 4 a) gold leather zip pouch; stop pain, pill bottle, coconut oil, eye glass cleaner 4 b) clear/pink plastic pouch; eye drops, nose spray, allergy pills, nail clippers, nail file, elastic hair band, essie apricot cuticle oil, tums, compact mirror 5. wallet 6. various lip sticks and such 7. pens & pencils 8. 2 pair gloves 9. phone charger 10. keys 11. my favorite gum

I'm sure I missed something.

And, yes, that is tidy and condensed for me. My purse isn't large either so having the pouches helps keep things from flying every where. I feel like some-what of an adult when my purse is clean - that's odd to say, I know.
{there's always bottle caps at the bottom of my bag. There is valerian pills in that "Serenity" bottle.

Not shown: blow, mini hand shovel, the collection of bird beaks, and my handy bloody spoon.
Items on rotation: sunglasses, notebook, pencil pouch (yes I'm 8) and my tampon pouch

Happy Easter!

7 things

1. I’m not sure if I mentioned this but, I got an iPhone 5 recently which replaced my 2.5 year old Droid2. I love it. I feel a bit like an asshole even complaining about my old Droid2 because it’s a very nice phone. It only started acting up after 2.5 years which is great for a cell phone. But, I was definitely in a situation where I didn’t know what I was missing till it was in my hands. Apps are beyond better on the iPhone and now you can call me an iPhone snob. I’m only a little sorry about that.
2. Allergies are kicking my ass today.
3. The time is drawing near for us to move back out and on our own. I'm having some anxiety about it because of the whole renting v. buying market. We have to wait a little longer to apply for a mortgage loan and rent prices are just out of control right now. The fact that rent prices increase when the housing market is struggling just isn't fair. It's predatory.

4. Good news, I did just paid off a debt that was a major, monthly burden. Yeay!
5. I think the perfect work schedule would be 9am - 2pm, M - F.
6. Last night I let Fred out to do his nightly routine of marking every bush, tree and blade of grass in the backyard. Since the weather has gotten a bit warmer he's started taking his time doing his business, it's a seasonal thing that I dread when it comes to him and his poops. My parent's backyard is pretty big and in the far back is like a junkyard so he likes to go back there and sniff and mark every damn thing. Plus all of the cats, chickens and the turkey he likes to taunt, makes for a pretty damn annoying nightly routine. Well, last night he didn't come back for over twenty minutes even though I was calling and calling him. Because it's so dark back there and he is mostly black I couldn't see him or hear him because he didn't have his collar on. His days of having freedom to roam are over. He cant'' be trusted because every night lately he pushes the boundaries. I'm dealing with a toddler dog, I swear to God. Needless to say he is so grounded.
7. I'm addicted to Sonic's grape creamslushies.
I am loving this new mani this week. I'm always taking pics of my nails when it's 1am and they're all dark and yellow.

Emerald City Cupcakes

warnings:
*not suitable for children under 8*
*may cut mouth on shards of glass*
*people with crowns or bad teeth shouldn't attempt to eat*

I got a whim to make these and when that happens with anything that I can't stop thinking about, I have to follow through with it.
I used a regular box of yellow cake mix and pre-made cream cheese frosting. I also used the deviant cook's recipe for Breaking Bad blue meth candy to create the emerald city on tops of the cakes. I tried to break it up in skinny sharp pieces but tried to make them not too large or too small. I did crush some of it up into really tiny pieces for sprinkles.
I cooked them in gold cupcake paper molds which I thought was the perfect touch.

Tyrone calls them the shards of glass cupcakes.

This was really fun to do and they turned out great (I think so) but they are not the easiest to eat.

Farewell G-Reader

By now you've probably heard that Google is retiring Reader, but don't fret because you can transfer your g-reader subscriptions over to Bloglovin by reading this. I just did it and it worked beautifully; quick and easy. They have an app you can download too for iPhone and droid. Follow me here!

You can still subscribe by email if you prefer that way as well. (Upper right-hand corner)

I never had many followers but what i did have were some quality peeps who have stayed with me for quite a long time and that I am very much appreciative of.

I feel bad for those who make a living off of their blogs, because one of the factors that they use in ad pricing are how many GFC subscribers they have. That sucks for them. I think it's just another ploy to get us all to use google plus and I just can't with that yet. I am on it but I don't use it. I'm not a fan.

Well, I hope some don't completely fall of the earth because of this.

Do we think they will ever get rid of Blogger all together? Gawd! I hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Small Spring Shop Update

This week and next, I'll be adding stuff to The Shop here and there. There are few new items up now.

I know I'm slow to this but I like the new web layouts for Instagram.
I'm zenmasterflash on there if you care!

7 things

1. I like to listen to the 80's alternative station on Pandora when I'm getting ready on Sunday mornings. Why Sunday mornings? Because, the work week mornings are a blur. There is no time for The Cure or Depeche Mode those days. It's sad.
2. I almost look forward to seeing the previews than the actual film when we go to the movies. With that said, we went to see Oz The Great and Powerful last night, and I loved it. It was visually appealing and had enough camp in it to appease any Sam Raimi fan. Well maybe not the hardcore fan. I wouldn't call myself that although Tyrone is and I can't tell if he liked it enough. We both laughed a lot through it and it was definitely entertaining. I LOVED all of the witches so much. We went and saw Bert Wonderstone on Friday night and it totally sucked. It was painful, predictable and a piece of shit, if I'm being totally honest. It had potential but totally failed. We were both trying not to fall asleep during it.
3. We tried to do some fun things this weekend because it was Tyrone's last free weekend before he starts school, which is today.
4. I went to the best mani/pedi parlor ever on Friday. I went with my friend Jamie and we were totally pampered. It was worth it and well deserved - I am not ashamed to admit that.
5. The Sun!!!
6. Our plants are growing well since I added charcoal to them and our avocado tree is making a comeback. Fingers crossed!
7. I didn't blog at all last week. Last week was a blur, although, trying to recolect anything significent at the moment has escaped me. As goes life...whatever that means. It's Monday, who cares.

The Basement

Here is a little video I made on my phone of The Basement. You get a little mini intro of our messy hostile room.

There is no sound so it would be appropriate to hum

You guys...I hate it. That is all.

The room in the back that you can see towards the end is the old coal room. I hate that room the most.
