old metal cabinet

This past fall my dad brought home some old metal cabinets and if you know me you know I am obsessed with cabinets with working tiny drawers. I can't stand any chest or cabinet that appears to have a bunch of individual drawers and doesn't. I guess they would be called faux drawers that when you pull one of their handles it opens say four or them to reveal one larger drawers. I HATE THAT! I love old metal office supplies and stuff like that so these were a dream to get. One day when we get our own place I'll be able to use them and stuff all sorts of shit in them.

Junk Hunt

In the past few weeks I've scored some major finds for myself. I thought I would finally share some with you. I have scored three different pairs of Doc Marten shoes of which I am the most proud of. I wish I would have kept a hold of all of my old pairs that I trucked around in from back in the day.
bright red vintage sweater
brown docs
mexican belt
black vintage slip (broke a person rule with this one)
tie-die jersey dress
and vintage scarf

cotton stripe shirt
black docs (in perfect condition)
black & white oxford docks (pretty beat up but grunge is coming back, right?)
red and white 80's belt (it's hideous and I love it)

Vintage Red Cape

Tyrone got this vintage red cape for me for my birthday in October. I thought I would get more chances to wear it this winter but the snow has failed to land much in Utah. I'm not complaining, I hate the snow as much as I hate Taylor Swift but when you have a gorgeous red cape like this you kind of want a reason to wear it. This last Saturday I didn't want to let go another day just sitting in my closet so I thew it on and some red lipstick. I thought it deserved a full outfit post of its very own.

Still horribly awkward.

I am happy to report that this photo sesh didn't induce any marital problems like some have in the past.

shirt: vintage 80's houndstooth pattern (beyond thrilled to find this top)
skinny zipper jeans: black Joes found for $7 brand new
shoes: old custom chucks from 2008 with my nickname on them
red vintage cape: thrifted birthday gift
necklace: vintage

Jay Z is loving the cape too

DIY Halloween Costume Series - Bride of Frankenstein

This is more of a modern version of the Bride of Frankenstein. Instead of using a sheet I wanted to use something more fashionable for lack of a better term so I picked up this lacy round tablecloth. All I had to do was cut a hole in the middle of it. I went for a bit of a poncho look but instead it just added twenty pounds. Oh well. I had fun. My favorite part were the tights. I picked them up at Walmart but they lasted all but two seconds. If they had been a little thicker I would have kept them and worn them year round. I had a pretty hard crush on these tights. The messy beehive was fun to do too. I really liked it and will have to try this for another day. There's a lot of would-haves in this paragraph because I was strapped for time putting it together, which was a bit of a bummer. I had to hurry and get it all done and take pictures before dropping Tyrone off for work.

I do love it though and I still haven't decided if this is what I'm actually going to be on Halloween.

Do you know what you're going to be yet? Let me know I would love to hear.
Supplies:
round lace tablecloth, skeleton tights (or a bright color pair of tights), white skirt, long sleeve shirt (mine was gray but you can't see it very well), black belt, flats or some killer heels would look good too, contrasting color hair piece (if you've seen the MS version they used white yarn for the strip in her hair),

Farewell darling things

Sending the darling owl with the blue eyes out to a new owner and the Texas Ware plates out to another lucky owner. I hope I don't mix up the orders because I am deliriously tired and still sick. But once these orders are packed up and ready to be shipped I have a tub if Ben n Jerrys waiting for me.
