Stay tuned tomorrow...

Junk Hunt

Since losing a large box of pants from our last move I have been in need of a small sauce pan sized pan for my oatmeal in the mornings. I've been using this HUGE pan for my one serving and it's annoying. This pan is adorable and is in good shape.

Autumn Sunset

The other night, I think it was Tuesday, I looked over the less than attractive warehouse that sits next to our parking lot and saw this.

BIG THANKS!

I want to thank EVERYONE who entered the giveaway and for anyone who tweeted or blogged about it! It had a much better turn out than I thought it was going to.

THANKS!

Also- I want to thank any new followers who joined. I hope you enjoy this weird blog. If you have a blog I am going to try checking them all out this week.

Happy Hump Day! You can take that as dirty as you want!

Winner, winner free range chicken dinner

Okay that was a lame title.

Let's all put our hands together and congratulate Angela the winner of last week's CSN Giveaway!

She has a really cool blog too called Craving Cupcakes! Check it out! Her baking makes me salivate all over my keyboard.

I wanted to thank all of you who gave me feedback on the whole giveaway scene and my anxiety with it. I really appreciate it! I don't want followers who only follow me for giveaways - I hope you follow me because you like what I post; the DIY projects, my smart ass comments, junk hunts, weekly confessionals, etc.

Inspiration - Street Art

Of all the things that inspire me the most besides music is street art. Finding little things like this in a dirty city is my favorite thing to do. When we found this one I didn't even have to ask Tyrone to pull over so I could get out and take a picture of it he was already pulling over because he already knew I was going to ask. He's grown to accept my quirks.

Next up - the giveaway winner is announced!

Lyriks I'm Liking

Haven't done one of these posts in awhile. I've had this song on repeat today. It's helped.

You've got the love (I like Florence's version best)

Sometimes I feel like throwing my hands up in the air

I know I can count on you

Sometimes I feel like saying "Lord I just don't care"

But you've got the love I need to see me through

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough

And things go wrong no matter what I do

Now and then it seems that life is just too much

But you've got the love I need to see me through

When food is gone you are my daily meal

When friends are gone I know my savior's love is real

Your love is real

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

Time after time I think "Oh Lord what's the use?"

Time after time I think it's just no good

Sooner or later in life, the things you love you loose

But you got the love I need to see me through

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

You got the love

Random Thoughts Tuesday

randomtuesday

I found The Um Mom's blog via Kristen who does a Random Thoughts Tuesday post and decided to join in. That is her fugly button up there (her words not mine). Check out her blog if you haven't already she is so funny.

All day yesterday I thought it was Tuesday and when I realized it was only Monday I locked myself in the bathroom with a razor blade.

Because I thought it was Tuesday I sent out a tweet that said the Giveaway was ending soon which technically it is but not as soon as I almost ended it. Phew!

This morning a co-worker said, "Hi, you look different today. Looks like you're feeling better." I have makeup on FUCKER! I never wear makeup at work anymore and apparently this translates into me looking sick or that there is some sort of problem going on in my life. Have you ever had someone at work ask you if you're feeling okay? I'm not sure if there is anything that could piss me off more. I get this question when I haven't worn makeup or when I'm just flat out tired in the morning. THIS DOESN'T MEAN SOMETHING IS WRONG PEOPLE!!!

I'm on this horrible trend where I only do ONE load of dishes ONCE a week. This wouldn't be so bad if we ate out all of the time. We eat at home during the week all of the time so you can only image what my kitchen looks like. Because I only do one load a week that still leaves a whole stack of other dishes that I never get to do so therefore the vicious cycle never ends and my kitchen will forever stink like rotten milk. I bought a can of Pumpkin Pie room spray to help but my dishes still sit there rotting away. The worst part is that I don't care enough to do anything about them. A few weeks ago my mom came over did my dishes and cleaned up my whole kitchen like the cleaning machine that she is and it was totally awesome. I even tried to keep it up for as long as I could but I have since let it go to hell. I repeat - I am not Superwoman! I understand keeping my dishes tidy shouldn't require super powers but I need something super natural to get my butt up off of my craft chair.

I need a real vacation. I want to go to Disneyland for Halloween. It's so awesome there this time of year. It's crazy because when I walk into that place I get a calming feeling that comes over me and I get so happy. That is definitely the little kid in me.

I am excited for Glee tonight and that Britney Spears is going to be on it. That is definitely the lame person inside of me. A commercial came on last night for it and I got all giddy and in return I received a pretty gnarly eye roll and snide comment from Tyrone.

I found a Polaroid camera last night at the thrift store but it is broken BUT it also has a full case of SX-70 film in it. I wonder if it good or not?

I need to paint my fingernails and toes.

I am still longing to dye my hair red or auburn or black cherry. I am nervous because last time I tried this it didn't even take at all.

Hope you enjoyed Random Thoughts Tuesday!

Giveaway ends today! It's Tuesday right?

Salsa

Last week I drove down to my parent's to help my mom make salsa. They grew a whole bunch of tomatoes, which is something they do every year, and decided this year was the year something would be done with all the extra tomatoes they had. We were on the search for a recipe that night (no thanks to Twitter) and finally found the best recipe we could have gotten our hands on from our family friend Maria. She had an authentic Mexican food recipe that was a lot of work but we pulled it off quite nicely.

We turned the ingredients pictured above plus a few others into this

I'm so proud of us. It was one of the coolest things I've done lately. We also ate BLT's minus the lettuce and drank throw back Pepsi. It was such a nice evening. Loved it! Our share of the sals is gone. It didn't last very long at all.

Giveaway ends today

Weekly Confessional

Photo Editing. I rarely ever don't do it. I always retouch the lines in my forehead, zap out blemishes and if my scar on the left hand side of my face is showing I take that out. I don't edit the scar out because I am ashamed of it I just think it looks awkward in photos. Sometimes it just looks like a black line on my face like my nephew took a pen and drew on my face with it. I never have to use the retouch on Ty - I hate him. He never has anything I need to "make look better" I'm not exactly against the magazines doing this to famous people either. I do have a problem when they totally change obvious things like by making them look a lot skinnier or taking every single wrinkle out but taking out some stretch marks or blemishes doesn't bother me. I thought it would be fun to show some before and after photos of us. Some of them aren't super obvious but you can tell a little what has been change. Unfortunately I haven't figured out how to take the double chin out.

No makeup before and after. You can see my scar a little better here and all of the sun damage on my forehead and the acne scars on my cheek.

Junk Hunt

Ever since I made the Queen pillow out of my old tee shirt I have wanted to do more. I got some really nice feedback from people in my personal life about them so I thought I might make some more. I went out to search for some and I never usually find good graphic tees but this day was almost perfect.

Here are a few.

The black part is velvet and the logo is huge. It also has a really cool Batman tag.

I bought this because of an inside joke between my family. Our cousin was the piano player for them for quite a few years. We wasn't an original member he's much younger than the two front men. We got to see them in concert a few times. It's fun having a "rock star" in the family even if it is Air Supply. You wold never guess it but they still have this HUGE following that is quite interesting.

Okay, I saved this one for last. It is from the 80's I can tell. This isn't some knock-off that they remake for Target or Old Navy (not that there is anything wrong with that). You can tell it's pretty old and it has the Star Wars tag in it. Now, I don't know much about this stuff or if it's even worth anything. I could be wrong.  I do know there are people out there that more than L.O.V.E. Star Wars that might like this. Now, my initial reaction was thinking that this would make a kick ass pillow for someone but if it's worth anything I won't start cutting it up. I think I might have Tyrone post it in his Ebay store and see what happens. Anyone out there know about this stuff? If I don't get any feedback I'll just cut the damn thing up because I for one hand don't give a rats ass about Star Wars.

Coffee Addict

It's official I've replaced my former Red Bull addiction with coffee. I know this is true because I'm drinking a cup at 1:00 am and it's NOT decaf. Hell no! I wouldn't choke that shit down if someone had Frederick's ears in a vice threatening me with stretching them out if I didn't swallow! (okay it's late and that last part sounded dirty...if you know what I mean...swallow? ha!) Also, when you see actors on television drinking a hot cup of coffee and you think to yourself, "Hot dog! That looks so good" and awake from your daydream to find your dog licking the saliva from your chin - that is how you know you're an addict.

This morning I got up at a decent time and edited a gabillion photos, cleaned and made some whipped cream to go in my coffee. The messiest cup of joe I've ever had. It was the only thing my body needed all day until about five this afternoon and I inhaled a Five Guys burger. Man those things are good but they sit with you for hours. I hate their french fires - I just had to get that out.

I didn't get very far on the cleaning if you were wondering. I'm way too easily distracted. I did finish a cool halloween costume DIY project that I plan to post on October 1st to ring in the BEST MONTH IN THE WORLD!! I have also decided that in October I am going to post about a few of our fun Halloweens before we were married. This year will be our first Halloween as betrothed couple. The year we decided to stop having premarital sex

Next week you can expect:

Monday: DIY
Tuesday: Weekly Confessional
Wednesday: Inspiration
Thursday: I don't know yet...
Friday: If you're lucky a Junk Hunt post

There will more than likely be the unscheduled post that pops up. I just might mess with you all and mix the entire schedule up.

I shouldn't write this late/early.

The Giveaway ends Tuesday, so if you haven't entered you better do it with the quickness!

Lame Lunch Break Post: Read only if you're truly bored to deah

I had planned to post a Junk Hunt today (because I found the coolest mo-fo-ing tee shirts) but I couldn't get online last night which in turn caused me to toss and turn all night from not being able to BLOG. What torment!! I'm surprised I didn't run over to the local coffee shop at 12am to do so. So in turn you get a rambling session on my lunch break because I didn't bring any thing to eat today. It's okay I keep a bag of almonds in my desk drawer for such occasions (which happens more often than not).

This week my husband started his second week at his new job. It's been kicking his ass but he loves it. I'm happy about that. No, not the kicking his ass part (although that is more like me) the part where he loves his job. God!!! Let's hope he doesn't get let go next week or even in a few months. I've been quietly watching him put up with hell. Tuesday, while I was at my parents helping my mom make salsa (best thing I've done in awhile) Tyrone and my dad were trying to fix old blue (the '77 Ford he's been driving) because the water pump and radiator broke. Wednesday night the alternator belt AND power steering belt broke right after he go off of work so my dad had to rescue him and they spent a few hours that night fixing them. Last night when he was driving home the power steering belt came off and he spent some time last night trying to put it back on. All of this was happening while he's been suffering from cement/chemical burns from mixing concrete and working 13+ hour days. After having worked a few desk jobs and not working at all this construction stuff is rough. I know he'll be fine after a few weeks and will eventually be use to it all. He's committed to whatever he's doing at the time and will give everything he has.

{For anyone keeping track can you tell me how many jobs this is in two years? I have lost track.}

I've had to pull out my good wife face this week, especially last night when he was ready to explode. I kept my mouth shut, made him dinner and tried to help him with whatever he needed. THAT WAS SO HARD to do. I'm such a brat. But I think it was good for me for once.

Monday I called in sick to work. And usually that doesn't suck so bad except that I had a great weekend. Sunday night I stayed up late watching the news about the fire but then after I finally went to sleep I woke up around 3am or so from a night terror. I have them every so often but they usually don't wake me up. When I do wake up from them I feel like someone dragged me out back by my hair and made me do line dancing while they shot a BB gun at my feet and then afterwards made me watch The Jersey Shore and force fed me fudge and apple pie. All things I hate except the line dancing part but when you have a dirty pedo-ish looking grown man in suspenders pulled over an un-tucked greasy flannel shirt yelling "Dance for me clown!! Dance, I say!!" it can really ruin it for you.

Sometimes my imagination gets a little carried away. And non of that was even about the dream.

Oh yes, the night terror. I literally couldn't get out of bed the next day. It was so odd. It was a mix of a night terror and nightmare. I can't get the dream out of my head.

The next night though I had a dream I interviewed Ed from Collective Soul and I felt much better. Ah, hmmmm, Ed. I'll just stop right there before I get too carried away.

In one week from today we are going to the Blue October concert. I really think I might cry the whole time.

***I'm worried the Giveaway isn't going so well this time around. Are they lame? Should I keep doing them? Is everyone just really busy? Was it something I said? Did I offend someone? I'm getting all paranoid about it. Sometimes blogging gives me anxiety.

First Day of Autumn

It's official. I'm so excited for Autumn to be here. (posted this right on time too 12:02am MT)

Hoodies, sweaters, leggings, tights, and accidentally wearing your slippers to work because your feet can't bear to part with how comfortable they are. That actually happened a few times last year.

This is going to be a random post celebrating Autumn.

I want to repost The Halloween Hit List from last year. I made a few adjustments with a little help from my lovely cousin.

halloween 2007
We have a few birthdays during this month and next (including mine) and the next month after that.

halloween 2007 - he's pretty much the perfect Batman with those ears
I might sign up to run a 10k on Thanksgiving day but I might wuse out and only run a 5k or NOT at all.

I've read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow classic story (and watched the tim burton movie already a million times) and have read the classic horror story The Damned Thing by Ambrose Bierce. It was a perfect short read to set the mood for a fall night. I really liked it.

I've been going over some of my halloween posts and I realized I never posted about the years 2007 or 2008. Well I probably didn't post about 2007 because I don't think I was writing this blog back then and it's too late to think too hard about that one so I won't. The two years before 2009 were pretty awesome. In 2008 my mom totally kicked all of our asses with her costume. I just might post it.

Some pics from last year's Halloween.

Don't forget to enter the Giveaway (ends next Tues) if you haven't already. I think next Monday I'll have another cool DIY project to post about an easy costume for those who don't do the dress up thing. I'm def not one of those peeps.
