DIY: Doll Head Specimen Jars {repost}
For the truly twisted individuals.
I like cute Halloween and I like creepy Halloween but I think I prefer creepy over cute. I admit I like creepy any time of the year but Halloween, as we all know it is the time of year we get to truly Let Our Freak Flag's fly.
I'm all sorts of giddy typing up this post while I listen to my Halloween Hit List. I made some more specimen jars to go on The Mantle for this year. I am loving them and had a million ideas that I could have done but I tried not to let it get out of hand. It works out perfect for a glass jar hoarder like myself. I did head to the thrift store for the tall one because I wanted a larger one in my display.
This is too easy; all you need are jars, food coloring, doll heads (or any other specimens you prefer) and water. I realize these won't last forever but when the holiday is over I'll just dump out the water and save the doll heads and jars for next year.
Take your doll heads and tuff the jars with them, use tongs to adjust them as needed. You might also need to disfigure the head to make it fit too which is what I had to do.
Fill with water; if you don't want the heads to float to the top you can put rocks inside of them to keep them weighted down. I did this in one of them.
Add food coloring and let it float around. It will eventually float to the bottom. You can stir it around with the tongs or shake the jar a bit to get it to mix well.
Screw the lid on and your done.
Tomorrow I'll have a DIY on bloody garland and a doll head bloody bow tie AND a Halloween Costume Series post.

First Day of Autumn
It's official. I'm so excited for Autumn to be here. (posted this right on time too 12:02am MT)
Hoodies, sweaters, leggings, tights, and accidentally wearing your slippers to work because your feet can't bear to part with how comfortable they are. That actually happened a few times last year.
This is going to be a random post celebrating Autumn.
I want to repost The Halloween Hit List from last year. I made a few adjustments with a little help from my lovely cousin.

| halloween 2007 |
We have a few birthdays during this month and next (including mine) and the next month after that.
| halloween 2007 - he's pretty much the perfect Batman with those ears |
I might sign up to run a 10k on Thanksgiving day but I might wuse out and only run a 5k or NOT at all.
I've read The Legend of Sleepy Hollow classic story (and watched the tim burton movie already a million times) and have read the classic horror story The Damned Thing by Ambrose Bierce. It was a perfect short read to set the mood for a fall night. I really liked it.
I've been going over some of my halloween posts and I realized I never posted about the years 2007 or 2008. Well I probably didn't post about 2007 because I don't think I was writing this blog back then and it's too late to think too hard about that one so I won't. The two years before 2009 were pretty awesome. In 2008 my mom totally kicked all of our asses with her costume. I just might post it.
Some pics from last year's Halloween.
Don't forget to enter the Giveaway (ends next Tues) if you haven't already. I think next Monday I'll have another cool DIY project to post about an easy costume for those who don't do the dress up thing. I'm def not one of those peeps.

Stuff and more stuff
I’m grumpy. I cry on a whim and YES I am on my period. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
How was that for an opener?
I am thankful however to finally have my first cycle since the miscarriage. Now in the next few months maybe we will be able to actually TRY. Yes I said it. We are ready – I can’t run from it anymore. Was that too much information? Too bad.
You still with me?
Besides the Hub, dressing up for Halloween is the only thing getting me through the next few days. I get to dress up Friday (for work) and on Saturday. You have no idea how much this pleases me so. We are going to a haunted house tomorrow night with our cousins and Saturday…well I’m not sure about that. We’ve been invited to a party but I am hoping that the recent curve ball that has been thrown at my family doesn’t ruin that day. Halloween is my favorite holiday WAY over any other holiday and if it is not a good day I will be PISSED. And that is that. Another thing that has helped is keeping my Halloween Hit List on repeat. I just love it.
Focus: I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up. I get to dress up.
And wear my new fabulous earrings that I bought from Etsy at this shop.

This is random but I love these one’s too – A Calavera! This shop also has some pretty cool shiz.
I can’t explain how much I love Etsy. I would love to be able to buy more stuff on it. I am a big fan of handmade items and all of the awesome people on there that enjoy it too.
More randomness:
I’ve been working on a few things lately. I revamped a few of my old tee’s and made a puppy pouch to attach to Frederick’s harness for when we take him on walks. It helps so much because I never know where to stuff his poopie bags. It’s usually so awkward and this eliminates the awkwardness. I’m hoping it will also work out for the house key or car key. I don’t like to carry a bunch of stuff on my person (it’s so lame that I just said it like that) so I can run or walk care free.
Before
After
(The before and after shots may look odd because the tees are different colors. I didn't dye the tee, I revamped two of them, the after pic of the white one didn't turn out and I'm too lazy to retake it which is unfortunate because the white one is better.)
Fred looks like I told him I put all of his toys down the disposal. What a baby!
The End.
I hope I didn’t scare you away.
I will leave you with this creepy picture in honor of Halloween approaching.
