Concert Tee Re-Vamp

It's no secret I love Steven Tyler. (Don't get me started on the rumors that they are breaking up.) I've had this Aerosmith tee shirt for a very long time and it was starting to look a little too warn out. I didn't want to retire it to a pajama shirt - I would have felt so guilty. Ha! See the nice hole at the bottom from an accidental bleach spot? Oopsie! The hole has gradually gotten bigger over the years. I have to say that the pic of it above actually doesn't show just how worn out it really is. It was also a men's size large so it didn't fit well either. I can't take full credit for this idea it was actually Daisy's (and she says not crafty). This idea is going to come in pretty handy with some other tee shirts I have hanging up in my closet that I have not been able to bring myself to throw out. Some of them are either too small (ok most of them are too small) or just old and dingy. If you have a concert tee or graphic tee that you love but don't want to get rid of because it doesn't fit right try this idea. It's easy smeezy!

Here is a rough tutorial.

Take an old concert tee or shirt that you like and cut out the logo. (This was a little hard to do because of how attached to this shirt I was)
{bye bye beautiful shirt}

I used HeatnBond Ultrahold No-Sew transfer paper to attach the logo to the new shirt. Take a large portion of the HeatnBond out of the package and lay it down with the sticky side up.

Place the logo face up on top of the HeatnBond and trace the entire logo and cut it out.

Place the logo face down on your ironing board, place the HeatnBond sticky side down on top of the logo and iron away directly on top of the paper side. You don't have to leave the iron on for very long just a few seconds. As you can see I didn't cut the transfer paper out to exactly the shape of the logo - you don't have to worry about it being perfect.

Peel the paper back once it has cooled.

Take the new shirt that fits you oh-so-perfectly and place the logo sticky side down at the desired place on your shirt. I bought my shirt at Target on sale (no Talladega Nights movie pun intended). Pretty much everything I buy is on sale or thrifted. That may change one day when I become a millionaire. Ha!

Depending on what kind of logo you're working with you may want to use a thin towel to iron on the logo to your shirt in order not to ruin the graphic/logo. If you do need to use a towel you have to press a bit longer with the iron in order to get it to adhere well. I also sprayed mine with a water bottle and it seemed to help out much more.

Now you can stop here if you want if you prefer a rough edge. If you cut out your logo better than I did it will look great at this point.

I decided to do an easy embroidery boarder around the edge in bright red. I like the way it gave it a more finished look. I wish I had a better picture of the finished product. I really love the way it turned out. I did one other shirt but I need to take a good pic of it before I post it. I have a few other shirts I want to this with as well. I love the iron on transfer paper. I have so many ideas now of what I want to do with it.

The Road

Tyrone and I just finished reading this book this weekend in time for the movie to come out this week. I can't wait to see it.

No Yuppy Puppy Here

{Mr. Bo Jangles and Frederick Biggie Franklin}

Let's see, Monday we went to J Wongs for Ty's BFF's birthday. We had never been before but it was good and nice to get out. Thanks Vapid Vixen for inviting us! The middle of the week was a blurry mess of work and crafty goodness. I have been so busy at work - actually having to work while working is not fun. Ha!

Last night we enjoyed one of the few and far between perks of me being an assistant. We got a night at the Hilton downtown and enjoyed a nice dinner at Bilaggis. (I am sure I just butchered the spelling on that) They have the best butternut squash ravioli. I could eat it everyday. After dessert and drinks at the hotel we went to our room where Ty fell asleep and I stayed up watching the Hangover. I laughed my ass off. I kept waking Ty up because I could not stop laughing.

Last weekend I went to Target with my madre and we found this cute puppy coat for Frederick. It was only $2.50. I bought it hoping that it wasn't too yuppy-puppy looking but he seems to like it. Since I was overly cautious about the way it looked I thought I needed to vamp it up a bit. Make it more punk-puppy than yuppy-puppy. So I embroidered a rock-on fist pump symbol on a white felt star to attach to the coat. It was easy-smeezy.

I am so excited for next week. Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday probably because it involves being lazy and stuffing your face or my love of mashed potatoes and sweet potatoes, you know carbs? The enemy. Well it's not my enemy we have a pretty involved, intimate relationship.

This week I also re-vamped another tee shirt that I am so stoked about thanks to an awesome idea by my mom. I will post about that next week. I have also been working on the dinner table decorations for our Thanksgiving dinner. Plus my aunt and her kids are coming to town for the holiday so it should be fun. I can't wait to see them and stuff our faces.

Today I am just catching up on all of the glee episodes I have missed. That show is genius. I am also hoping to finish the book The Road that Ty and have started. We are trying to finish it before it comes out next Wednesday. Can't wait! The previews look good, but we'll see.

Day After Shoot...Finally!

It has taken awhile to edit these but they are finally finished. I decided that I wanted to do this after seeing some awesome Day After Shoots on some of the wedding blogs out there. The other reason I wanted to do this after is because the day of my wedding I wanted to be relaxed and not have to worry about how I looked the whole time. I wanted to enjoy the day. I also made a new bouquet for the shoot because I wanted something new. It was so easy to make - I just used crepe paper, feathers and ribbon!

If you want to see the rest of them click here franklin's flash Day After Shoot. There a bunch more goofy pics to look at. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

The Return of Master Flash's Garlic Guru Burger

Last night I cooked dinner for my parents and Ty. I cooked my awesome Garlic Guru Burgers and homemade french fries. I think they were a hit. When you put them on a bun you can't get your mouth over them. They are even fantastic with out a bun and you really don't need much condiments either. My dad and I cooked these french fries once camping this summer and they were incredible. I can't wait to try them with sweet potatoes. The burgers look like there are fried eggs on top of them haha! I used swiss and cheddar cheeses this time. Gouda cheese makes these even more mouth watering. Make sure your onion isn't too green or they will be hard to bite into. You can use any onion, yellow, white or red. We've tried them all.

Over the Weekend

We had one busy weekend.

Filled mostly with loads of laundry that I took to my parents house Saturday morning. My mom asked me if we were secretly moving in because I had SO much to do. "Moving back in with you mom? Ummm...how can I say this nicely? Nope."

We made a big financial decision. Now hopefully we can move on to better things.

I got the cutest coat. Made possible by clever bargaining between my mother and I.

Frederick discovered goats.

Had a great time just hanging out with the family. We even went to church with them on Sunday and I didn't have the urge to shove pencils in my ears.

Met Tila (I have no idea if I spelled that correctly). She is the new member of our extended family, She-she and Deebo's baby Chihuahua. She is so tiny and so sweet.

A fun thing we did was go to the Bijou Market. It was nice to see the creations in person by the people of whom blogs I stalk. Someday I may dare to have my own booth, emphasis on the may.

Love my mommy!

Lucky to have a fabulous M.I.L.

Mother In-Law's Birthday.

Tyrone and I spent Friday night with her to celebrate her birthday.

I made her a cell phone cozie (which I hope to be selling soon) and a little bracelet.

We watched old episodes of Mad TV and cooked some cheap ribeye steaks.

She doesn't look a day over 25.

I can't get over how she is looking at Ty in this pic.
They have the same cheek bones.

Her and I share a love of purple and teal/turquoise.

You.

There’s one thing I ask of You.

Don’t lose You.

It’s devastating to let You go.

More than anything I hope You know.

I love You.

Be free from the darkness.

That has a hand on You in this mess.

I will fight to the death.

For You.

And not just because I love You.

Scariest Halloween Ever

I wish I could tell you that I have this awesome, lovely, wonderfully creative Halloween post to share with you but I would be lying.

If you know me you know that I. DON’T. DO. FAKE.

I am also not going to go into any details of what our Halloween was like either.

It sucked. Let‘s just leave it at that. We did however get some pictures. I’ll leave it to you to decide if they are good or not.

I’d love to brag about my awesome costume and the hard work I put into it but it all doesn’t matter now. The horribly deep depression that has set in on my family’s life has now sunk into a black whole some place where it never stops snowing and frost bite is as common as a yeast infection. And the only thing on T.V. is The Hills and it is on EVERY channel – playing the same episode over and over again. You know the one where Spencer and Heidi pretend to get married?

But I am thankful to be breathing. I suppose.

How was that for a performance? I can be quite the drama queen.

Halloween morning
Frederick and I were goofing around. He was being his usual needy self so I decided to take pictures.
There are a ton more of these.
My friend Jamie and I were the only ones who dressed up at work the day before Halloween. We obviously are the only cool ones who exist. She was a dead Miss Scranton Rodeo Queen.

Ringmaster Flash 2009
I'm kind of sad this is the only picture I got of my costume but oh well.
Maybe I'll do the same thing next year.

I made this hat out of a styrofoam cup and felt.
I am pretty impressed with it because it survived a stomping - Don't Ask.

She-she and Dillen Colt and some nerd hanging out in the back.

Tyrone the Viking Princess

The hat got passed around through out the evening. Do you love my double chin?

Shelby the always classy pregnant lady
ok, ok she is not really pregnant.

My cute little lion.
This actually lasted a lot longer on him than I thought it would. He eventually kept getting his legs caught in the maine so I had to take it off. It did have some leg things that lasted all but 2 seconds.
Grandma Daisy with Hagen the pumpkin
Pickle and Snickers the other pumpkin

I'll go a head and leave you with this image of our lovely faces.
This pretty much sums up how the evening went.
