DIY Your Own Polaroids

Polaroids are so much fun I even  have a few old polaroids cameras but I am too cheap to purchase film for them. I'd rather spend my money on Nesquick and nail polish for the time being. One day I will purchase some film for my lovely cameras but until then I'm just going to make my own. I'm not very good at coming up with Christmas related projects, they just don't come to me like others do. Something about not being inspired and under constant stress this time of  year. I was looking at our mantle and thought that maybe I would make a garland to hang acrossed it and suddenly polaroids & clothespins popped in my head.

What you will need:
Poladroid or smart phone software (something that will make any digital photo look like a polaroid)
Photo paper
Word processor
Printer

Misc. supplies:
Clothespins
Magnet strip tape
Glue
Sticky/tacky stuff (I have no clue what this stuff is called, you can use it to hang pictures and it's tacky and reusable)

Open Poladroid and your computer's photo software or folder where your pictures hang out. On my mac I can drag photos from iPhoto to Poladroid and after  few minutes I have digital polaroids.

Drag photos into Poladroid and wait for them to develop. This is what they look like once they are finished developing.

Open up Word and import your newly developed polaroids. I was able to fit four on each page by adjusting the margins (left & right: 0.55 top & bottom: 0.7)

Print onto 8 x 10 photo paper. You can print each individual photo from your photo software if you choose but for me this was much easier to do and didn't waist any photo paper. I lucked out and found this package of photo paper at the dollar store for a buck.

Cut out with scissors or you could gnaw on them with your teeth if your teeth cut with precision. Mine don't.

Most of my pictures I hung on the mantle with tacky stuff and clothespins. I put a small amount of tacky stuff on the back of a clothespin and stuck it to the edge of the mantle. For the two extra photos I had I glued magnet strip tape to the back and hung them to my fridge.
