I was feeling a bit discouraged about this project this month because I had planned on doing something "cooler" or rather with a little more effort than what I ended up doing as you can see. I especially love this month's prompt because we're suppose to incorporate words into our self portraits and since I'm dealing with some internal struggles this week I chose the word "mean." If you have a chance go check out the pictures on this month's post on urban muser's blog and if you feel encouraged like I did then join in because we're doing it all year.
{It's more than just bloggers taking photos of themselves}

'Mean' can mean (!) many things, it depends from which angle we are looking at it.
You're covered mouth and tightly closed mouth may show that you 'mean' to say something, but it isn't quite coming out as you 'mean' it to. Maybe that's just an interpretation?!
Nice expressive eyes!
You don't look mean. I guess you can't judge a book by it's cover.
these are a great expression of how you are feeling. i love using words in my selfies to do just that. i am glad you decided to link up--thanks for sharing these at {in the picture} this month!!
Can I have a weekly confessional moment right now? I hate taking pictures of myself. Will you teach me to get over that? I like the idea in this pic, with the chalkboard and word. And, you look a lot like your mom in this one.
You don't look particularly mean:) But I love the idea. Great shots.
i love the honesty :-) and really like the second pic...with the way you've 'erased' part of the word, it's almost like you're reconsidering your emotional state or that you've changed your mind & are in the midst of feeling something else. great work, can't wait to see more!
I like your images....and you did do something cool and something authentic. At least being real is cool to me. Hell, there are many more weeks and months to put other words with your selfies. I didn't do anything cool either-my mind was a blank, so I just skipped it. Maybe next month we'll rock out the subject AND add words.
These are fun. . . and real.
I dig real.
What I like about his project is how we are documenting where we are at a certain point, at a certain place, at a certain time. Thank you for being real.
oh... sorry to hear you are struggling. i hate when i have those kind of weeks. and even though you threw this together at the last minute {like i also did with mine for february}, i like what you came up with. in fact, these are the best kind of s.p. images... the ones that capture our true selves, just the way we are in that moment... nothing pretentious or planned or posed... even though those can be really cool, too. what's really great is when we manage to do both in one photo. but i still like that these reflect just how you were feeling at the moment. and i LOVE your glasses!
maybe you and i will start early for march, and not have to scramble at the end of the month?? fingers crossed. =)
I know those kind of weeks... your self-portraits are great (like the second one very much) as they are documenting a true feeling
I love the second photo! Being authentic is neof the most important things so glad you embraced where you were.
Thank you everyone!!
Mean?? Naaaaa...
I hate those weeks...having a bit of one myself...but it's only monday so I guess technically I am having a day like that myself.
So now we have the same glasses too???
We've gotta meet.
