DIY - Drinking Glasses

It started with how much alfredo pasta sauce we consume and my hesitation at throwing out the jars. I've recycled glass jars before in the centerpieces at our reception. I love the idea. I use them for storage and vases too. I've managed to save a whole bunch of them before Tyrone could get his hands on them (he likes to toss them out) and now we have a set of eight.

What you'll need: (if it's not already obvious to you)
Glass jars from last night's dinner and a few dinners before that (any glass jars will do in any size you desire)
Warm soapy water
Dish Rag
Window cleaner or Isopropyl Alcohol
Paper Towel or Dry Rag

These particular size of jars are perfect for drinking out of. They aren't perfectly round so you can get a good grip around them.

Before

After dinner I take the empty jar and soak in a bowl or sink full of warm soapy water. I let it sit for an hour or so in order for the label to remove easily. Most of the time I can remove the label in one sweep if it was soaking long enough. I use the window cleaner to remove any excess glue or residue and then run them through the dish washer.

All done!!

After

One the right-hand side of The Blog you can click the DIY Headquarters banner to see more projects.

I also gave the blog a tiny makeover and added a button for those who want to see any wedding related posts. I'm proud of everything I made and did for our wedding so I love to share it. I'm thinking of starting to share some wedding DIY tutorials of what I did. I saved so much money doing the things I did and I'm sure there are some people out there that could use the tips even though there are a GAZILLION wedding blogs out there.

Anyways, check it out if you like.
