Poultry Paradise

I broke my poultry cherry. Turkey cherry. Gobble-gobble cherry. I'm pulling at thread here.

We cooked a turkey a few days ago. We stupidly didn't begin till after 8pm. It was finished around 11:30pm. Yet we stayed up to devour that S.O.B. It had the crispiest, tasty skin I have EVER had. It even beat Honey Baked Ham. Although, for the work and price I'm not sure I would cook another one.

You should have been there to here the adolescent banter between Tyrone and I as we, well he, pulled the gizzards and neck out of it. If you've done this before you know what I'm talking about. To say the least it's disgusting yet the 12 year old in me thought it was hilarious like the first time I learned what a boner was.

Before we put it in the oven we rubbed a mixture of dried herbs and butter all over it's bitter old lady skin all while singing it rubs the lotion on it's skin or else it gets the hose again... I would post a picture of this part but my blog would need a mature rating. Well, more than it already does. We got some butter in some places.

Now we have dinner and lunch for a few weeks. We have been making the best cranberry turkey sandwiches.

I'm excited for the guest posts I have scheduled but I am hoping I get some more. Come back Thursday for a nice treat.

I am still working on our new stockings - I bought black vinyl to make them out of. I can't wait.

I think I fixed the formatting issue I was having with my pictures. Phew!

I decided to take the ads off of my blog. They're not working anyways. I think I've earned $16 in over two years - I'm on a slow moving crazy train. They didn't play well with the aesthetics of  The Blog.

On the last random note, I have over three months of periodicals to catch up on. I'm usually all over those suckers as soon as they arrive in the mail but I just haven't had the desire. I do miss cutting the crap out of them. My goal for 2011 is to get back into it.
